ANNA COLOM
Anna Colom brings us “Cayana,” a musical journey tracing the roots of flamenco through the rhythms and folklores that have enriched it. Imagine a journey from Brazilian samba to Uruguayan candombe, passing through Veracruz and Huelva fandango. It’s a sonic stroll through guajira and cabal, Argentine zamba, and soleá. “Cayana” pays homage to Cádiz with bulerías, bamberas, and swing songs, and looks back with work songs: temporeras, flamenco trillas, and rural songs from Segovia and Extremadura. It is an emotional offering to a mother through abandolaos lucentinos. This album is flamenco in a gaseous state, fused with the essence of many lands. It is the story of music, narrated through music itself.
