Alhambra Monkey Week 2024: Open call for showcases
Desde hoy jueves 10 de abril y hasta el próximo lunes 24 de junio Alhambra Monkey Week abre la convocatoria para participar en su Circuito de Showcases, que tendrá lugar dentro de la 16ª edición del festival, a celebrar un año más en Sevilla del 21 al 23 de noviembre.

Alhambra Monkey Week opens today, Thursday April 10, the call to participate in its Showcase Circuit, intended only for bands with representation agencies (such as record labels, management agencies, institutions, etc.). The deadline will end next Monday, June 24 at 11:59 pm. The call is open to artists from all backgrounds.
Every fall, the city of Seville becomes a stage to measure the pulse of the music scene and meet new talents. Names like Rosalía, Carolina Durante, Pony Bravo, Mujeres, Nathy Peluso, Fuel Fandango, Ms Nina, Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba, Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, Guadalupe Plata, Hinds, Los Estanques, Bala, Neuman, Cariño, Cupido, Niño de Elche, Belako, Novedades Carminha, The Parrots, Toundra, Los Nastys, Baiuca, Colectivo Da Silva, Bronquio or Camellos are just a small sample of the talents that have paraded in its beginnings by Alhambra Monkey Week -or its sister festival Alhambra Monkey Weekend in El Puerto de Santa María- in previous editions.
Proof of its relevance as a springboard for new artists is that, every year, its call for showcases is more and more crowded: let’s remember that last 2023 more than 1,000 entries were received from 58 different countries. In addition to numerous artists from our country, the call received proposals from Albania, Germany, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burundi, Canada, Czech Republic, Chile, Cyprus, Colombia, Costa Rica, Democratic Republic of Congo, Denmark, Ecuador, United States, Slovakia, Slovenia, Philippines, Finland, France, Hungary, Georgia, Ghana, Greece, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.
The Alhambra Monkey Week Showcases Circuit has established itself in its fourteen years of life so far as an indispensable platform to meet live the latest music scene, not only in our country, but also values from other countries such as Portugal, UK, Austria, Sweden, USA, Luxembourg, Colombia, Mexico, Chile or Denmark, among many others. The formula is as simple as it is effective: to offer a list of short performances with a basic backline during which the bands give their all in front of the public, the specialized press and accredited professionals (mostly bookers, promoters and managers of venues and festivals).
Considered as the festival that has established the showcase format in live music in our country and has already become an indisputable event for professionals in the national industry, Alhambra Monkey Week has also consolidated international interest in its recent editions. Professionals and musicians from territories such as Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia, USA, Portugal, France, England, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Australia, Japan, Korea and China have actively participated in the last editions of the festival.
Alhambra Monkey Week es un festival urbano, una feria de muestras, un encuentro profesional, un acontecimiento cultural y toda una experiencia que volverá en su decimoquinta edición a hacer especial hincapié en las posibilidades que brindan las relaciones interpersonales establecidas entre artistas y profesionales del sector. Para ello contará además de su habitual Circuito de Showcases con las no menos tradicionales jornadas profesionales DICE Monkey Pro, de nuevo articuladas a través de tres días temáticos con mesas redondas, talleres, entrevistas públicas, speed meetings y otras actividades, y que en su pasada edición contaron con más de 1.000 profesionales y músicos acreditados.
With the phrase “Discover tomorrow’s music today” as its leitmotiv, Alhambra Monkey Week has been committed to live music and the emerging talent of our most independent scene since 2009. And this 2024 will return to repeat its usual objectives.
